Well, it may not be considered a numismatic coin NOW - but then few coins are when they are released..........however, I would say yes, and for a few reasons.......

First, if there is a demand for it to add to sets (and I would say graded IS important for it to be considered numismatic - if someone were building a set of MS 69 0r 70).

Secondly, I have heard some interesting rumors about this coin. Originally the plan was to release it in various denominations - including 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4, 1/10th and I THINK 1/20th (but maybe no that one). But for some reason, all that was scraped for just 1 oz. I have further heard that this may be the last year they make the buffalo.

What determines general numismatic value is collector demand.

What determines individual numismatic value is if an individual is drawn to it and wants it.

And often the second leads to the first!
